The Jedi Code

  • Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy.

  • Jedi use their powers to defend and to protect, never to attack others.

  • Jedi respect all life, in any form.

  • Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy.

  • Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.

The Jedi Mantra:

  • Through harmony and justice, there is peace

  • Through study and service, there is knowledge

  • Through discipline and focus, there is the Force

The Star Wars code is actually a good code to follow for real Jedi. Read it well, and understand it. Say it to yourself once in a while, so you will not forget it.

The Jedi Mantra is specific to this real Jedi Order, which originates on deep reflection of the fictional Jedi Code Mantra created by Odan-Urr (which in reality has role playing game origins):

Odan-Urr's Code
(when) there is no emotion (in situations), there is peace.
(when) there is no ignorance (in situations), there is knowledge
(when) there is no passion (in situations), there is serenity
(when) there is no chaos (in situations), there is harmony
(when) there is no death (in situations), there is the Force

The Odan-Urr's Code is here for your information. But it is sometimes confusing and so it is not a requirement for real Jedi to learn it, you may incorporate it in with your philosophy if you would like to. There are many who think it has merit.

There have been other ways to follow that have also been admirable. Learn what you can from them.

The Code of Knights

  • A knight is sworn to valor.

  • his heart knows only virtue.

  • his blade defends the helpless.

  • his might upholds the weak.

  • his word speaks only truth.

  • his wrath undoes the wicked.

Lucas film exclusively owns the Star Wars Jedi Code. It is perfectly usable, all it means is that you can not write or say the words to make a profit.
