Knowledge and Philosophy

One of the greatest ways to do mind tricks is just to be intelligent.

Common Knowledge: (morals from fables)

  • A strong defense pays off in the end.

  • Something that seems innocent, can have disastrous outcomes.

  • Don't go where you don't belong.

  • Even the most tricky person will fail at one point.

  • Even the most seemingly useless can turn out to be useful.

  • Sometimes things are not what they seem to be.

  • Only the people who work hard, will get rewarded for their work.

  • Slow and steady wins the race.

    Ancient Philosophy: (From many philosophers)

  • He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgment.

  • Only those who attempt the absurd achieve the impossible.

  • Cogito ergo sum (I think therefore I am). Note: if the world is just a trick, There must be a you for the trick to be played on.

  • Creatio ex nihilo (creation out of nothing). Note: Only a supreme being could have created existence, so there must be God.

  • Everything is made of thought. Since there is a consistency, we must be partaking in God's thoughts.

  • The Lord works out everything for his own ends---even the wicked for a day of disaster.

  • In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.

  • Time and tide wait for no man.

  • Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

  • Let sleeping dogs lie.

  • You can't win if you don't enter the race.

  • When words are not better than silence, one should keep silent.

  • An enemy you vanquish remains your enemy. An enemy you convince becomes your friend.

  • Keep your eye on the sky, and your feet on the ground.

  • Having power is not nearly as important as what you do with it.

  • A ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.

  • It is the battle within ourselves that brings out our true worth.

    Warrior Philosophy: (from Miyamoto Musashi)

  • People in this world look at things mistakenly, and think that what they do not understand must be the void. This is not the true void. It is bewilderment...

  • With your spirit open and unconstricted, look at things from a high point of view.

  • Perception is strong and sight weak. In strategy it is important to see distant things as if they were close and to take a distanced view of close things.

  • Study strategy over the years and achieve the spirit of the warrior. Today is victory over yourself of yesterday; tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.

  • You win battles by knowing the enemys' timing, and using timing which the enemy does not expect.
